As a contractor, I subsidized a lot of Germans. I knew the system was a joke. There was a dept. in Munich to tell the apt. cat that his vaccine against Yellow Fever had expired.
They had a dept. to buy them the tickets, get visas and they just had to follow the rules. Adn they needed this guy whose job was to go out and break the rules and make things work. That's how I survived 8 and a half yearsin Nigeria. Subsidizing the Germans.
I knew the system was untenable. It couldn't survive. Once it crashed, they would not survive. It crashed and they had not survived. Survived in the professional sense, I mean.

And I'm here. No health insurance. I discover I am my own AIG. I domn't pay insurance and when I -or my family- get sick I go to the hospital and pay the hospital bill. No pension. I have to keep deferring consumption, so that I could consume when I get old. But I hate paying taxes. I don'tt pay taxes in Brazil besides my proerty taxes. Money fro education of my daughter is already in the bank. I just have to keep it from someone looting it.

Unemployment? I call holidays when there's no contract. Then it is this time when the bank account gets low, and low and then lower... But I don;t have a owner who can one day bring me to the vet and get my "tool box" clipped. OUCH!!!

And I have no pity for any guy or market under protecion or under subsidy.
