Republicans cant talk about human rights in China. It was Henry Kissinger who first really opened up China to US corporations. Blame him and others like him. Also, what are you going to do, sanction China? With the North Korean situation getting out of control and so many US companies involved it would be catastrophic to be make human rights the #1 issue. Better to make friends with China and gradually turn then around. Also, China is one case where communism is not such a bad thing. They have such a huge population that if they were ever given true freedom there could be massive civil wars and instability. I feel bad for the Tibetan Buddhists but they are receiving a lot of help from the west.
