I always felt that it was unconscionable on the part of Pentagon to not to pay soldiers the fare all the way till their home. In case Pentagon changes its mind again... here is how you may be able to help

Hero Miles
For those of you who may not have heard, many of the soldiers serving over in Iraq are being given 2-weeks of R&R to come home and see family. The problem is that the government only brings them so far – we only fly them to Germany or one of three U.S. airports – BWI, Dallas or Atlanta – after that they have to pay for their own flights home.

Congressman Ruppersberger from Maryland heard about this dilemma and started Hero Miles which allows the rest of us here at home to donate our unused frequent flyer miles back to the airlines so that they can issue tickets to deserving soldiers.

For more information about how to donate your frequent flyer miles from United, Southwest, Delta, American or AirTran please visit heromiles.org.
