The Social Bias among the Media staffs makes a big difference in the way they handle stories. It is impossible to find a female media reporter who is "Pro-Life." Only among the columnists. This drastically influences the way they report on the subject. And don't forget that polls show the majority of people in this country are "Pro Life."

That's typical of the "bias." One of the reasons I still hang around SI is that you encounter people who are from different subcultures. I real life, we don't all that often. I do not personally know a single person who isn't pro-choice. Not one. People who work in news rooms are like me. They are not like Cousin Minnie in Idaho. We all live in our sub-cultures, even where the world around us is diverse. It is normal and natural that women in news rooms will be pro-choice. The question is whether or not the news organization has a responsibility to provide affirmative action for employees from other sub-cultures. Or is it enough to recognize and be respectful of other points of view? I think that more effort should be made to be sure that news items are not dismissive of opposing ideas. Affirmative action for belief-holders is ridiculous.

Same situation exists in the BG of people reporting on Gun Control and other conservative issues.

The same thing is true for gun control. If Cousin Minnie were to move to New York, she'd probably support gun control, too. Gun control looks very different in those two locations.

As the Media bosses see Conservative viewpoints getting the better ratings they will go with Conservative hires.

I think that is a temporary phenomenon. Fox gets ratings because it's the only game in town. If there were a half dozen Foxes, the ratings would be spread around. Also, Fox News is a big deal right now because some frustrated folks have finally found their comfort zone. Over time, the thrill of that will dissipate as will the bottom line.

" would love to see the results of a Lexus/Nexus search on the three Network Anchors' use of "Right wing" and "Left Wing" when referring to Pols."

This is close, but it's in regard to print media.
