Your view is a bit more palatable than the totally whacked out theories espoused by others.

However, just to spin the logic. If the issue were OIL, it is costing us a fortune to get a miniscule amount of oil. Don't you agree? The likely $200 billion cost of the Iraqi war and engagement will never be made up in oil. There is no evidence that the US will get oil at below market rates. So I don't really see it.
