Dean isn't a "serious candidate?" You must be blind. In an age of politics where image is king and where the public wants a "strong leader," Dean is a very strong candidate. He outdoes Bush in the arena where Bush is strongest; machismo. Dean looks like the kind of guy who'll meet you face on in an ally and try to kick your ass, even if you're a big guy. He projects the attitude of a man that thinks he can do it too. Dean has REAL presence. That's opposed to the "too stupid to know better" presence of Bush. Dean is articulate, straightforward, passionate and he appears to care about America and the average American. That overcomes a lot of "policy issues." Those that are informed will vote according to the issues. Those that are not informed will vote according to their gut instincts. Dean, unlike Kerry, Edwards and, unfortunately, probably Clark, is the kind of guy that people instinctively trust in times of crisis. That second group voted in Bush and they'll swing the election next year. In addition, Dean is adept at pointing out the long and recurring string of judgement errors of the Bush administration. He's razor sharp when it comes to identifying and highlighting the blunders in statements and policies of the Bushites. If you think he's not a serious candidate, you might want to take another look at one of his speeches or interviews. You might also want to hope that no one saves your message to taunt you with later. G.
