NPR doesn't need any money, they just got 200mm from the McDonalds heir, so cut them. NEA PBS and NPR (so called "liberal pork") vs. 190 billion farm bill, energy boondoggle and prescription drug pork? You've got to be kidding. But anyway forget the budget for a minute, its this jobs issue that will kill Bush.... negative ratings in the 40+% and the root of it is the jobs mess,which cannot be fixed with tax cuts. States like NC that Bush needs to win: Bush Left North Carolina and so did the Jobs chapelhill.indymedia.org He doesn't have a prayer. The Bush people think they "bought" votes with all this pork, but all they really bought were campaign contributions. The little guy didn't benefit from the pork, only CEOs. In my state there is a vulnerable dem senator, Barbara Boxer. I'll bet she stays, another dem sweep. Bush is really out of touch but he should have known.
