Actually, Shrubbery is providing more aid to OBL's extremist cause than anyone else in the world. That is the true irony of this situation.

Iraq has the possiblity of voting in a constitution based on religion. Even if the executive branch remains more or less secular in the day-to-day operation of the country, the judiciary could end up creating what is essentially a theocracy.

If they follow the US framework, a religious judiciary could vote yea or nay on all laws even if they were made by basically secular, democratically elected representatives. The law of unintended consequences continues to stymie the mice in all of us.

Not only would this turn of events thrill OBL but it would provide a clear game plan for future fanatical extremists. So far, Shrubbery et al have declared the following:

1. Despots with nuclear weaponry will be negotiated with and paid off with economic aid. Despots without nuclear weaponry will be toppled.

2. Self-righteous, radical, extremist terrorists who do the most heinous crimes against humanity may rile a superpower sufficiently to provide unexpected aid for their cause.
