BTW1, how is $5,000 "ten percent" of $40,000? I'm surprised that Indians get paid that much, I thought the disparity was much larger.

I think the 40K cost for Indian programmers is if you use a consulting firm like Satyam, then you are essentially paying Accenture like rates for offshore talent, you know how accenture charges $120/hr for programmers here? It is just the model.

BTW2, I still make the same salary, but I agree that if I lost my job, I would probably have to go back to work for less than I make now. BTW3, we have lots of new contracts on the horizon, we might have to hire some of those unemployed IT workers. At reduced salaries, of course.

I'm just pointing out that people don't like to lose 30-50% of their income and they will blame somebody for it. As president (or for that matter, congress) you are supposed to be thinking about what is best for Americans.
