tendency to be flippant (like McCain), a trait that is guaranteed to get him into trouble (as it has already), and comes across as occasionally arrogant (like 90% of all doctors). I would expect his handlers to start filtering him when the stakes get higher.

Being flippant didn't get McCain in trouble. Despicable lies from Bush and Rove did McCain in.

Being flippant upsets a small pantywaist percentage of the population. PEOPLE POWERED HOWARD is a huge fan of Give 'Em Hell Harry, who said "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

All thinking Americans, except for the crooks, are mad as hell at George Bush. Dean can be as flippant as he wants, as far as most of us are concerned.

*******
As to having "handlers" and other courtiers, I hope to hell that Dean shows them the door the minute they try to ingratiate themselves. They are worse than worthless, they destroyed Al Gore in 2000 by taking a basically decent guy and turning him into an angst-ridden neurotic image conscious fool. Handlers are a disgusting feature for a real man. Though when you have a pile of silly dough like George Bush to work with, then handlers make some sense. But not with adult candidates, ferchrissakes.

Grub.

Exactly, Dean right for primaries, wrong for general election. Kerry right for general election, wrong for primaries. Damn.
