This is where CFR most blatantly disregards the 1st amendment. It literally criminalizes speech , POLITICAL SPEECH, between a candidate and his supporters. If it survives SCOTUS review, we have no Constitution and we are a government of people, not law. I still can’t believe Bush signed it.

1) It remains to be seen if such independent expenditures--which by law cannot be "coordinated" with a candidate's official campaign--will actually work.

What did McCain-Feingold accomplish? Should they have spent any energy on the bill they passed? Does the source of new funds through interest groups make McCain-Feingold look foolish?
