Canada seemed to shift their gold holding policy in the mid-80s.
They held 20-22moz all through the 1970s up to 1986, when they began to sell.
They went under 10moz by 1992 (50% in 6 years),
under 4moz by 1994 (big 60% drop in just two years),
and have drifted all the way down to about .2moz
(WGC September 2003 report)

Canada had 9th largest gold reserves in the 1970s, now down to 64th.

There is lot of gold underground here. Why I'm fuming is that they same like BoE sold big chunks at dirt cheap prices buying US$ to keep loonie down. (among other things). Martin has a good reason to call an election as son as he can.
