Thank you Grace. I grew up in more metropolitan areas than the author lived in Taiwan. Though we had the same grew up environment. I can really related to those photos. Except it seems that his families have lived in that village for several generations. However my father was fresh from a remote village in China after 1949. I went back with my father several years ago to see where he grew up. I found the same culture ties that existed between two sides. What a tragedy that average folks have to suffer from those politician's political tricks and wars. My father did not go back to where he was from after almost 40 years tight relationships between Taiwan and China. Now new born politicians and their junkies are still play the same cards to fool those innocent folks on both ends of Taiwan straits. Sad. Well. We have good political systems here. I can always vote out the bad one like Gray Davis in California. Though I am not sure how good Arnold will be. At least we gave him a try. Thanks again. BH
