You might want to check out his speeches and positions when he was a governor. Don't go for sound bites and rhetorics or how others paint him to be. Take another objective look and you will change your mind about him. You may not agree with his views (and don't have to, if you are on other side of political belief) but otoh, you will most likely have an appreciation as to why he has come as far as he did.
