<<DAMN the fellow MUST be doing SOMETHING RIGHT?>>

Gee JDN, weren't you just explaining the business cycle to someone who wanted to give Clinton credit for the last expansion?

Seems like you're talking out of both sides of your mouth.

What is worth noting is that during the Reagan era expansion we ran ever increasing deficits. That's just terrible fiscal management. Imagine a company that loses money during the good times? Out with the CEO.

Clinton, with the help of George Bush Sr., put our fiscal house in order and during the Clinton era expansion we actually dramatically reduced the deficits and even ran surpluses if you believe the OMB and CBO.

But now Bush is back to the old fiscal incompetence. We're entering another economic expansion but we're losing money like it's going out of style, like a company going out of business.

Good economic news for three months doesn't offset the bad economic news for the previous 30 months. With the falling dollar and the prospect for higher interest rates that are a direct result of these policies at best the jury is still out. Besides there is a big difference between the big corporations doing better for a few months and the quality of life for the vast majority of workers who have nothing to show for it.
