Let me give you a well written assumption since you are on "China-HK" things and saying all are the same.

All alone China was selling the "One China Two Systems" framework to Taiwan people. HK will be the same things until Taiwan agrees or be forcefully united back. Then HK and Taiwan will not be the same things (systems).

True. People will forget more about political differences when they are rich. At the same time they will ask more rights and freedom. China's current regime do not have the experience to take on that type of pressure yet. Before that "rich" thing happen, the current regime have to feed and find jobs for 90% people first.
