U.S. Programmers at overseas salaries

I'm guessing the overseas programmers only see $10,000 - $20,000 of that $40,000 salary. The rest goes to the middlemen who arrange for their services.

The productivity of an onsite, within arms reach programming team is probably double the productivity of a team 8,000 miles away.

So if labor from India costs $40,000, then its still worth it to pay $60,000 for local labor.
