Chris and I rescued a drunk who'd fallen asleep in bed smoking a cigarette. Chris was living in a smallish apartment building at the time, and I was visiting overnight. I woke up because I smelled smoke. We got dressed and went looking for the source, and could see the man though his partially glass door. The mattress was in flames but smoldering, not leaping flames. Broke in the door and dragged him and the mattress out of there.

Chris spent the rest of the night at my place and moved in that weekend, and the rest is history. Married 24 years next May. ;^)

I guess it is up to the individual. I have been (and am) a smoker for 25 years or so. Never smoked in my bedroom or living room. Usually smoke outside the house, in winter smoke in my basement.
