It is said that Karl Rove often gages the success of his subliminal message to the public by turning the sound down on the TV and simply getting the visual effect. This is essentially how most harassed, harried, hurried and hassled Americans get their impression of politics. So, the medium is the message, as Marshall McLuhan suggested.

Rove strives to create an image of a President who is first of all telegenic, secondly, able to fake sincerity and thirdly, a character who can satisfy the requirements that Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels set out for the "stern, authoritarian father" figure who the fear-rattled public necessarily imprint on just as a flock of simple-minded ducks or geese can be made to imprint on a human being acting as a benevolent protector, just before he slaughters them. And George Bush clearly is in the midst of an orgy of slaughter he is orchestrating for the American public and the world at large. A more evil man hasn't been on the world stage in over 50 years.
