Politics can start to look pretty religious in nature, when people get involved with various -isms to irrational degree, each -ism has its scripture, and prophet[s], and dogma .... we've seen a stock thread go religious, complete with a Great Schism and all [or was that a Great Shyster-g-] ..... religions often cross the line into politics, or try to .... it's actually not that easy sometimes to see where is the division between the two, but it remains important to never ever discuss either when stone cold sober

What these people do to children, is what sickens me .... some of them teaching kids that they have a right to steal land, according to some long-ago previous conquest as recorded in their scripture, others emphasising immediate and futile attempts at retribution, valuing that higher than survival of the generations .... the stupidity is just so deep, on both sides, i don't see much of a future between Jordan and the sea .... even if one side could wipe out the other, which they can't because there are expat members of both, the 'winners' would not find subsequent occupation very satisfying, imho ..... sorry to be depressing, actually i sat down to type something upbeat, but there's just something about thoughts of armoured bulldozers and dynamite belts

'Separation of church and state' - we'll just have to start with 'separation of state and state' .... maybe with a workable UN to police the place, separate the two sides .... hah - in the unlikely event that the independent democracies could get organised and focussed on that any time soon, the neocons in control of the US would block it, as threatening to their world supremacy .... and by the time they're out of power, the chinese will likely want control, or the russians ..... geez i better stop, this is just getting worse eh ..... cheers
