Bill, it seems to me our ability to utilize space is going to be linked with our national defense in a way which makes complete privatization unrealistic. So a combination of private initiatives coupled with government funded efforts are probably a more realistic path to take.

I also believe we should seriously consider tax incentives for private corporations to take on the risk of space based enterprises. But, the last thing I want to see 100 years from now is the complete "ferenganization" of space.

What's the matter Bill, you are not a L1 fan?
I think that the US should put up a space station at L1, you know kind of plant the flag there first.
Like the old imperialist's from Europe did back in the 16th century.
