Kerry saved thousands and thousands of lives by leading the fight to end the Vietnam War. When the vets started protesting that really meant something to the heartland. If we have stayed in Vietnam longer nothng would have been accomplished exceopt thousands more dead and billions more wasted. Kerry did the right thing and could have saved the life of someone you know. He certainly didn't do any harm. He also had the right to protest. He after all had already kiled and been wounded, along with his brothers in arms. The right-wing didn't like it, but their war was by then a hopeless morass. They just couldn't accept the defeat. Only fools don't know when they're beaten. The Vietnamese didn't beat us, piss-poor policy and lies at the top did. Similar to Iraq in some ways.
