VIEW "UNCOVERED: The Whole Truth about the Iraq War"

TP,

I get your point and it is well made. President Harry Truman said it well, "The only thing new in the world is the history you don't know."

It's the frontispiece of Stephen Kinzer's marvelous book "All the Shah's Men" which should be required reading for every American high school senior. Understanding the degree to which corruption of democratic values and processes is at the heart of our government, and has been since the National Security Act of 1947 is something that citizens need to comprehend, and which they sadly seem to have little clue about.

Iran/Contra is a lot more meaty that the Hinckle matter. Well worth our time to understand..... among many other issues. Currently I'm boning up on the Iraq War propaganda story in anticipating participating in a MoveOn.org discussion on Sunday night. MoveOn has done democracy a wonderful turn by organizing screening at 2,500 venues across the country of "Uncovered".

Yes, Bush actually said this:

"The vast majority of Iraqis want to live in a peaceful, free world. And we will find these people and we will bring them to justice."
