Catholicism also teaches the subjugation or eradication of all heresy everywhere. That teaching caused about 100 years of really horrific European wars in the 16th and 17th century. But then the Europeans gave up on eradicating heresies, and re-interpreted their religious mandates. It can happen. It can also take a very long time.
