What do you mean by this? Seasonally adjusted nonfarm payrolls peaked in December 2000 at 132445. Preliminary November numbers are 130174. We've lost jobs since Jan 03 but created about 100K since summer 03.

There have been a bunch of phony new age employment indicators that people like Larry Kudlow have dreamed up, for example "household employment" which he says explain away the obvious job destruction that has gone on in the last 3 years, maybe you are looking at one of those statistics.

btw the "boston latin school" (bls.org is probably getting 50 times the hits now that these unemployment issues have risen in conscienceness.
