You don't link anything and deal with your feelings as if they are facts.

Actually, I have facts on my side. It is the Bush supporters, who see this issue as his achilles heel (which it is imho) who are in denial.

I posted the BLS numbers. We've lost jobs, bigtime since early 01. This hasn't happened since Hoover. And they don't appear to be coming back even with an 8% GDP, and the huge budget giveaway. Wages are way, way down. Plenty of statistics prove this, although there is not the "standard" metric for wages that we have with the nonfarm payrolls.

This is issue #1 as far as the US economy is concerned and it has been for a year. Lou Dobbs pretty much dedicates his entire show to labor now. I think the white house better get with the program or get some smarter people on board and figure out what to do about this. First of all, the most important thing might be to get some statistics out about the *true cost* of offshoring. Since I am involved in the practice myself I know this is a misunderstood point. At least produce some facts and figures. Next, evaluate what this does to the US economy in terms of our own markets and get it out there. I suspect the figures are staggering, the loss of the PC upgrade cycle is one thing that directly relates to offshoring that clearly wasn't factored in to McKinsey's original estimates. That is what I'd like to see first off. Above all, Elaine Chow should PLEASE stop calling jobs a lagging indicator! If she can't say anything intelligent with her stellar MBA credentials she should just shut up.

Yes, unfortunately there appears to have been a slide into partisanship so deep that facts can no longer penetrate.
