Chris Caldwell in a moving book review in Commentary observes: "That, in stark contrast to Israel’s foes, 'no Jew ever walked into a Palestinian child’s bedroom and intentionally killed her' ought to weigh heavily in our considerations of who is right and who is wrong in the Arab-Israeli conflict." But it now seems that Syria's terrorists in Israel wish to graduate from murdering children one by one to murdering them by the hundred, according to this story.

What was good enough for Abraham Lincoln does not, however, satisfy the New York Times. And maybe this time the Times is even right: It has occasionally happened before. But it's way past time for supporters of the war to begin to organize an intellectual defense of what ought to be done to protect Americans from organized atrocity by concealed enemies, some of whom may carry American passports. And the good news is that just this kind of organization is beginning now among a key group of lawyers in Washington. We'll have more news on this in the days ahead ....
