I suppose that if you use an odd number of negatives, there is no grammatical infraction. It's the even number of negatives that will get your knuckles rapped.

OK, smarty pants, answer this question [I ask it only because your Globalstar experience qualifies you]: If meteors fall to Earth, why is any spectacular rise in anything described as "meteoric"? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
