Hi Mq,

I suppose I could go to Fiji, but San Diego and the western USA is so much more interesting.

Let me know if you'll be in the Phoenix, AZ area. We could meet somewhere for a lunch or dinner...

I like heat and lots of it.

We have lots of heat, in spades, in the summer months. Probably more than you can handle... <g>

Hello Maurice, I will have to leave for the dinner place soon. The party is good. Only trouble is I am discovering the big conversation stopper with the ladies, 'meet my wife' :0)

<<innate superiority>> ... it is fun on the way up, but in the case of China, it may simply be a reversion to the mean, before the accident ;0)

I cannot think of any good reason to argue the sides of the facts and assumption, because if one is right, one does not have to, and if one is wrong, one cannot afford to, for the reality, as in the truth, will soon make itself apparent, day by day and after each night, to be yielded up by new servings of facts.

This is why I generally refrain from arguments, preferring to simply serve up a plausible construct, as a reference point, and if I feel lucky, place a wager.

It is all like a movie, to be enjoyed, not fast forwarded.

Chugs, Jay

>>It's funny watching Yiwu developing, already, a sense of innate superiority. <<

Thank you, Maurice, I am flattered to see my name mentioned (a couple of times) in your post<g>

Now, do I have a sense of superiority? Yes, I am proud of my Chinese heritage, but I would not call it a sense of superiority. Sorry if you feel this way. But I think all people should be proud of their own heritage.

As for whether China can be called "rich", maybe one day, but this day still is far away. China, as a country, is getting stronger every day, but in terms of per capita income, it would take decades, if not a century, for China to play a catching-up game. And will China behave the same way as it is now, or as it was 15 years ago? I think it will, but I know many Westerners do not believe it. So I guess they will know it when they see it.

And as for Taiwan issue, it is China's domestic affair. Taiwan may have a dozen reasons why they want to be independent, China has and need only one reason to oppose that, and that is: Taiwan is a piece of China, and no one can take it away!

And no matter what the US, Japan, or Russia, or any nation on this planet, think or say on Taiwan issue, China will do what it thinks necessary to keep China INTACT. So there is NO point to argue here. And if you think this is "a sense of superiority", then be it. I have been saying this since day one I started posting here on SI.

they adopt foolish political positions which drain them.
Did you have any country in particular in mind here? :-)

The Americans still have it.
True.

Yiwu developing, already, a sense of innate superiority
Considering it is currently completely baseless, most amusing.

Good post.
