I am happy to see this post. I have had the same problem and have tried everything possible to correct it to no avail. I never thought to connect the change to the downloaded security patch. I guess I will have to learn to live with it.

I've had the same problem with IE, but yours is the first public posting I've seen on the problem. It seems to be another irritating side effect of a not-so-well-tested MSFT patch.
