Kenneth,

Ooops. If you look at the first 34 months of the Clinton Administration, and the first 34 months of the Bush (43) Administration; you will find that Clinton's deficits were a greater % of GDP than Bush. LOL! So it depends how you look at the numbers.

Increase in the National Debt from Jan 31, 1993 - Nov, 31, 1995 (34 months, $4.167T beginning $4.989T end). GDP 1995 $7.075T. Increase of National debt during the first 34 months of the Clinton Administration as a percent of GDP (1995) = 11.6%

Increase in the National Debt from Jan 31, 2001 - Nov, 31, 2003 (34 months, $5.716T beginning $6.925 end). GDP 2003 $11.063T(http://www.bea.doc.gov/bea/newsrel/gdpnewsrelease.htm).
Increase of National debt during the first 34 months of the Bush (43) Administration as a percent of GDP (2003est.) = 10.93%

re:"you can't compare the size of those Democrat deficits to the Bush deficits. Bush is the champion deficit spender of all time."

If you measure current deficits against a bubble-burst economy and a 9-11 crippled economy they look worse than they will look as the economy continues its' dramatic improvement. Wish your guy Billy had done something about the economic downturn and the bubble before he left office, Bush has more important things to do than cleaning up Billy's messes.
