<<Whether one is Republican or Democrat, someone had to settle the election mess that happened to America. The Supreme Court acted responsibly because our country was foundering.>>

Which is why I said God Bless the Supreme Court.

<<OTOH, if Al Gore had won the election, he would have been indecisive and would have tried appeasement, like so many of the Democrats on this board.>>

Which is why I said god Bless the Supreme Court. The only hope for the Islamic terrorists is the election of a democratic party president, which is why I do not forsee an other terroristic attack on the United States before the November elections. An attack would guarantee President Bush's re-election, although there is little doubt he will be re-elected anyway. Although Osama is referred to as a mastermind in all these attacks I believe a smarter man would have hit the WTC during the Florida democrat inspired
vote furor. With Clinton still in office, with no authority left, and the election of a new President in doubt, this country could very well been brought to its knees.

"Appeasement" is a big lie. "Appeasement" of what and who?
Terrorists? I think not. Gore-Lieberman would have been a hawkish administration versus terrorism. Lieberman alone is the biggest hawk in the Dem party and would have wanted to be very tough on Saddam and terrorists alike.
Gore has always been known as a moderate hawk.

"Appeasement" of Saddam is a ridiculous notion because he was sitting there not threatening anyone. Therefore it's a lie to even talk about appeasing someone who's merely a pest and potential threat rather than a real threat.

By your logic, Bush could be said to be appeasing Saudi Arabia, North Korea and Al Qaida by pulling out of Afghanistan, not circling NK with troops and kissing Saudi butt. Attacking countries around the world just because you want to is not an admirable trait, in fact it's disasterous, as we've found out. Removing Saddam may end up costing us a trillion bucks. A huge-huge waste of money.
