No, the Kennedys made their fortune bootlegging. Which of course is very morally questionable. The point is, they could just sit back and enjoy their wealth like many wealthy Americans, travel the world, and do nothing at all to give anything back to the country that made them immensly wealthy. I have a lot of respect for them in that regard. They have devoted and even given their lives in public service. You can think whatever you want about the Kennedys, I have problems with their loose morals, but they have been good public servants and any right thinking person has to respect them for that. The same could be said for wealthy Republicans like the Bush family. They too could sit back and enjoy their wealth. But, they chose to serve their country and I respect them for that.
