LEADER OPINION POLL: Do you see signs of economic recovery?

Thursday, December 04, 2003

LEADER POLL -- Leader readers are informed and opinionated and willing to register their opinions.

This week, we asked Illinois Leader readers the following question: "Economic indicators are increasingly showing that the U.S. economy is growing again. Do you see signs of economic recovery in your community?"

A slight majority of our readers (51.07%) said that they do see signs of economic recovery in their areas.

40.91% saw things differently. "No," they said, they see no evidence of the economy picking up.

The other 4% said things are the same. The rest either had no opinion on the issue, or filled in with a comment. "Only if Blago abdicates will we see recovery in Illinois!" one reader said. "Please, 75 cents an hour jobs to replace $26.45 an hour jobs -- that's a recovery?" another wrote.

This simply does not matter. You aimed to deflect Prolife's point and failed, claiming Houston has the worst air in the nation when in fact California contains the four topmost air-polluted regions in America.

Even if Northern Cal has good air, the blemish yet remains upon the leftist state.
