We are each at the end of an infinitely complex DNA creation process and cultural adoption process, which only we experience in the instant. Our ancestors were just part of the web leading us to our current node. It is certainly an impressive process. There is only now and what is to come. People who are proud of their heritage. Yup, they select the bits they like. If you can't define yourself in your own terms and require your sex, your family, your race, your politics, your country etc. to give you your sense of identity then good luck to you is all I can say. I feel sorry for you if this is a significant basis of your identity. I am a global gypsy and am proud to be so. "Be proud of your efforts" - well said. -macavity
