Unfortunately, I believe it is all interrelated and is just one attack after another on our civil liberties. If the Internet can be turned into a limited-access, single-POV, strictly-commercial medium, anything can be similarly corrupted. It's all frighteningly close to coming true. Broadband doesn't have the penetration into US homes yet but it should fairly soon. Maybe the only answer is for every tom, dick, harry and mary to have wireless access in every nook and cranny.
