but then...I told you before that there were a few deists among the Founding Fathers, and Jefferson may have been one. But isn't it true that a Deist will see a creator as just that and nothing more. It is clear in Jeffersons writings that he figured the Creator to be much more involved with America.

And use a little common sense! Look at that quote again. I could say the same thing as a Christian.

I am a Christian, in the only sense he wished any one to be; sincerely attached to his doctrines, in preference to all others; ascribing to himself every human excellence; & believing he never claimed any other.

I am a Christian

in the way He wishes me to be

believing only HIS doctrine

over all other

just as He claimed.
