The support point at 59, however, was conditioned by many factors, including the performance of other semiconductor firms. There is always a danger in tracking one stock on the basis of its relationship to others, some of which are not in exactly the same market. When growth in the computer industry was somewhat reduced because businesses weren't buying new equipment, the entire semiconductor group, including SanDisk, reflected this weakness.
