I remember the phrase, "The missionaries came to do good and stayed and did well".

Oh, and I remember the story about the drunk who saved the pineapple industry.

Guess all that time I invested in reading Michener didn't have much of a return.

Walmart opened here in 2000. Most nearby small businesses eventually closed up. The employees are very unhappy with low wages which have tended to pull down entire wage scale for the area. Walmart is America's worst enemy right now. It's products are flimsy, lacking style & poorly structured. I would much rather pay a few $s more for American made products. Just recently China flooded the HDTV market with very low price models(which is against WTO rules); however, Walmart defended China's action in court. Walmart/China=the axis of weasels for American workers.
