I had not realized that Condi was with him. Good for her.

On either the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving, I was listening to Brian Lamb host Washington Journal on C-Span. An African-American gentleman called in to tell Brian that until Thanksgiving, he had not been much of a supporter of the President. He told Brian that his son had been one of the 600 in that room and that his son had an opportunity to speak to the President and to have his picture taken. The father's comments about what his son had told him mirror the comments in the email that you posted. The father said that he had never been prouder of a President. The power and emotion of that visit for those six hundred men and women makes me envious.

I have always given Clinton credit for making the trip to Bosnia and Kosovo to visit the troops. It was the right thing for him to do. Unfortunately, whenever a president, regardless of affiliation, makes a trip like this, all sorts of bullshit political considerations get mixed in. Bottom line, I would like to believe that all of our presidents feel an enormous burden when they put our people at risk.
