i bought an envision 17" lcd on black friday for $229 after rebates, and even lower after writing it off as business expense. 18s or 19s are probably the sweet spot for viewing, but 17s are the sweet spot for price from what i've seen. i wouldn't bother with a 15. staples guy said sony's were way overpriced based on their name, and nec and envision were best of breed. consider the source and take it for what its worth. i like the envision. buy.com has the viewsonic vx900 list 869, their price 642. buy.com
here are some other sources/prices: shopper.cnet.com don't forget to add in 5% finders fee. ggg GO FOR IT. BUY Betty one or two for Xmas, she'll love it. larry

This deal is dead now but it will give you an idea of what is available if one has the patience to wait for a promo.
