Simple way to put it, with the surging of the nationalism in China (one of consequences of a stronger economy), a lot of Chinese think Chinese government are too soft (the doctrine of the mean) on its foreign policy (such as the policy towards Japan, towards the US..., towards WTO... and towards Taiwan, etc.). And some Chinese also think plenty of corrupted Chinese officials gave foreign capitalists special treatment because they have been bribed by them.

Every time when something happened on the international front, like the US bombing of Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia, or this recent students demonstration in XiAn because of a couple of Japanese teacher/students dirty performance, it was the Chinese gov. tried very hard to control the mass demonstration and the anger of the majority of Chinese. So many Chinese think their gov. is too soft.
