There is a fight in California over Title Insurance for home re-financing. Obviously some protection is required, especially against un-recorded liens. But is full Title Insurance needed?

One of my Great-Grandfathers was a lawyer who opened new offices for a title insurance company. It provided a very posh lifestyle.

I think the companies aren't selling cheaply enough.

If he went into the business he would probably follow the model in his GEICO insurance business. (800 number with no sales force and low prices)

He always likes a business that has some clear way to differentiate itself from it's competitors. That's not a typical Title Insurance company.
