By its nature, it cannot be self-contradictory, especially about important matters of doctrine.

The same can be said about the Bible.

By whom?


By any of the millions of evangelicals and other Protestants who accept the Bible itself as the basis of religious authority. I don't know about Roman Catholics who seem to me (as an outsider) to lean more to the authority of the church.

My only formal study of theology was in my youth as a Presbyterian exposed to the teachings of John Knox. I would now describe myself as agnostic.

I have read a fair bit of the Koran lately and my guess is that like the Bible it has been hijacked by various zealots, cranks and hucksters over the years so that the original message is often lost.
