Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Heaven's Door... Kerry Campaign Death Watch:

rollingstone.com

John Kerry's Desperate Hours

The one-time Democratic front-runner is fighting for his survival

On a Friday in November, at the end of a tough week, John Kerry projects an aura of friendly confidence that suggests he is either out of touch with reality or has the serenity of a Zen master. In the last five days, Kerry has fired his campaign manager and then seen two staffers walk out the door. He has decided to opt out of the public financing for his campaign -- ostensibly to keep up with his chief rival, blunt, plain-spoken former Vermont governor Howard Dean, who made a similar decision earlier in the week, but also, as Time will report a few days later, because his campaign is having trouble persuading anyone to write a check.

Oops.

John Kerry's Profanity Sparks League of Decency to Rate Presidential Candidates

12/8/2003 - William Grim

-------------------------------------------------------

Ames, Iowa - Officials of the national League of Decency today announced that, in the wake of Senator John Kerry's expletive-laden interview in Rolling Stone Magazine, they will begin to rate the presidential candidates according to their language, violence, adult situations and sexual content.

"We think our new rating system will assist voters in determining whether or not they should allow their children to watch political news that might possibly have adult content," said Priscilla Lovejoy, national president of the League of Decency. "And goodness knows, the last thing we need in politics are adults."

The League's new rating system is explained below.

PML-- Potty-Mouth Liberal. This candidate uses four-letter words beginning with f and s. This candidate's political commercials can only be shown after midnight on the Spice Channel.

BS-13-- Boring Socialist-13. This candidate speaks in a monotone about Flower Power and the Summer of Love. His speeches may prove to be fatally boring to persons younger than 13.

AARJ-- African-American Rhyming Jiver. This candidate cannot put two sentences together without forcing an end rhyme. This candidate may be offensive to admirers of verse libre.

NC-16-- No Carding 16. This candidate likes to get underage girls drunk. This candidate may be offensive to girls of age.

PG-- Pure Gibberish. Nothing this candidate says makes any sense whatsoever.

R-- Rubbish. This candidate full of hot air.

GFA-- God-Fearing American. The candidate you should vote for if you weren't such a PML and full of BS-13.
