The "left" tag isn't working because there are people like me who hate the Soviet-style police state emanating from Washington. The Soviets were "left", and when you look at the truth, Bush is no kind of "conservative", but a big-gov't totalitarian, by all measures. I'm in favor of gun ownership to protect against Big Gov't fascism, against budget fraud to protect against stealing from our children, and in favor of busting Big Pharma, by national health insurance, at less cost than the current scheme. Dean favors those positions. The other candidates are less clear. What is unique about Dean is his willingness to call the Pres a lying puppet for sure, and a probable traitor with foreknowledge of 9/11. That's a fringe position, among media elite and pundits. It's not so fringe among the public, which is growing less trustful of gov't as the lies increase.
