Hey, looking back, there was a LOT of crappy music that came out of that era! There was "I can't hear you mommy I've got beans in my ears", "The leader of the laundermat", "Pafilafika", "Surfin' Bird", "May the bird of paradise fly up your nose", and every attempt that Chubby Checker made to follow up "The Twist". At the same time they had a steady stream of morbid tearjerkers out like "Teen Angel", "Patches" and "The Sweater".....geez....it's amazing that the whole generation didn't run out and commit suicide.
