7:23AM MSFT upgraded at Soundview 25.98: Soundview upgrades Microsoft to Outperform from Neutral based on the co's strong showing in their 2004 Gartner/SoundView Fall Symposium IT Spending Survey, which indicates across the board strength for the co in software spending intentions; while the co's CY04 outlook is not perfect, firm believes it is much improved over the CY03 outlook from a year ago due to strong customer spending intentions, rev impact from products launched in CY03, better legal outlook, and improved prospects for PC growth. Target is $33. ------------------ didn't take long for someone to get to Softie .. intel, csco, now msft ... all in the last couple weeks or so
