My main criticism over Zimbabwe is aimed straight at South Africa and, to a lesser extent, other nations in that region who coddled Mugabe and prevented early, effective actions against him. Mbeki's wishy-washy crap is despicable. He has been a major disappointment, especially since he was the moderate alternative to succeed Mandela and could have made SA into a shining example for the continent.

A serious disappointment. But Africa's main problem has always been its political leadership.

I haven't followed what the UN has done on Zimbabwe. Obviously not much. They clearly come up short on this one.
