rruff, I watched Hillary and she has certainly been taking her cues from her husband. Bill Clinton has repeatedly maintained that insted of being critical of the President, the Democratic hopefuls need to present their alternative plans. None have done so. But that is not to say that they will not do so once they become the nominee. I am sure at that point they will have a entire new group of advisors who will come up with an alternative.

As far as Bush himself is concerned, he has articulated his vision and philosophy several times. We know he is for tax cuts, we know he is for all for those mandates which are good such as those in education (NCLB) etc. But they are unfunded and hence what good is it? However, none of the Democratic candidates have articulated such a vision. And to cap it all, they have ignored Bill Clinton's advice too. The guy, who had a singular message "It is the economy stupid', the guy who went to the electorate with specific plans and won both times. Bob Dole was not an easy candidate considering his glorious past, his skills in the Senate as a leader etc.
